IMG_7163I’m writing this from the Outer Banks of North Carolina, a place our family feels is like our second home. We spend the first two weeks of July here each year, relaxing from the daily grind and enjoying the beach and good food.

One of the things I’ve learned as a mom is that kids love traditions and familiar places. Our girls actually put together a list of must visit places before we leave each year so they are sure to do everything they want to before we leave.

We have our arrival day traditions, the restaurants we must visit, and even our final day places to stop and things to do. Traditions provide children with a source of identity, they strengthen the family bond, and they offer comfort and security. Most of all, these times create special memories for everyone.

What are some of your summer time traditions? What is one of your favorite summer memories?
