A great verse to take into 2018.
The mistakes and disappointments of 2017 are in the past.
2018 stretches out in front of us brimming with opportunities to share God’s love with others, to live our lives for Him better, and the chance to do life differently – whether it’s kinder words, or just taking time to listen instead of making a snap judgement and rushing on to the next thing. Each moment we are given is a chance to make better decisions; to learn from our mistakes and make a different choice when faced with that circumstance again.
The price of our mistakes has been paid for at Calvary, through Jesus’ shed blood. Because of that, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9 NKJV
Don’t let Satan hold you hostage for past mistakes. Ask for forgiveness. In faith accept it. Then in faith move on, living your life for God and making pleasing Him our focus.
And keep looking ahead to that prize we will receive at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Forget the past, and run for that prize!
Let’s take this message for ourselves this year. Let’s teach it to our children, and our children’s children.
